To me, the name Pie Shack has little to do with a shack of pies, but more so takes its meaning from having a little bit of luck. The name is derived from a comedy sketch entitled “New Expressions” by comedian Demetri Martin. In his skit, Martin has created a few fictional phrases with one being, “Sold the Pie Shack”. He explains it as – “When you’re in a bad situation and it looks like it’s not going to work out but then it does.” …”Like when you have a pie shack. Who’s going to buy a pie shack? Then someone comes along and they want to buy a pie shack. You sold it! Problem solved, the pie shack is sold.”

Silly? Of course. Far-reaching? Maybe. However, to me it just may be short, sweet and silly enough of a name to stick.
